Day 1(10.06.2024)- Session 1:10.30 am to 11. 30 am:  ‘Orientation on Teaching Skills’

 Dr.H.Indu, Registrar of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, handled the first session on ‘Orientation on Teaching Skills’. In her speech madam emphasized about the different types of teaching skills, classroom management, qualities of a good teacher, skill of introduction and skill of closure.

 Day 1(10.06.2024)- Session 2:11.30 am to 1. 30 pm: Skill of Stimulus Variation

Mrs. S.S.Manimozhi, Assistant Professor (SG), & Ms. A.Suryalatha, Assistant Professor, Department of Education handling session on ‘Skill of Stimulus Variation’

Mrs. S.S.Manimozhi, Assistant Professor (SG), & Ms. A.Suryalatha, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, were handling the forenoon session after tea break on ‘The Skill of Stimulus Variation’. They oriented about the Skill and sub skills of Stimulus Variation, lesson plan writing and coding of skill of Stimulus Variation. They demonstrated about purposeful movement, gestures, variation in speech, taking deliberate pauses, interaction style and oral visual switching. The participants were assigned with activity. They also gave a demonstration lesson. They divided the participants into groups and asked them to take micro teaching focused on ‘The skill of Stimulus Variation’. Each participant’s presentation was observed by 2 observers from the participants and the expert. They shared their observations and suggestions.







Day 1(10.06.2024)- Session 3:2.30 am to 4. 30 pm: Skill Development in Higher Education

 

Prof. Dr. M. A. Sudhir, Emeritus Professor, Gandhigram Rural Institute handling the Session on ‘Skill Development in Higher Education’

Prof. Dr. M. A. Sudhir, Emeritus Professor, Gandhigram Rural Institute handled the afternoon session on ‘Skill Development in Higher Education’. He shared about the skills required by 21st century teachers to handle the classes effectively. He also talked about critical component of a teacher's journey toward personal and professional success.
