ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE CLUB
Ms.
R. Karishma, Secretary, delivered an introductory note on Artificial intelligence
club, with special mention to the staffs in charge of the club Dr.H.Indu, Professor, Dr. C.Karthik Deepa, Assistant Professor and Mrs.
Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor.
Artificial
intelligence is the ability of machines to perform certain tasks, which need
the intelligence showcased by humans and animals. This definition is often
ascribed to Marvin Minsky and John McCarthy from the 1950s, who were also known
as the fathers of the field. AI was a term first coined at Dartmouth College in
1956 Artificial Intelligence refers to the intelligence of machines. This is in
contrast to the natural intelligence of humans and animals. With Artificial
Intelligence, machines perform functions such as learning, planning, reasoning
and problem-solving. Most noteworthy, Artificial Intelligence is the simulation
of human intelligence by machines. It is probably the fastest-growing
development in the World of technology and innovation.
AI has four major categories such as
Type
1: Reactive machines
Type
2: Limited memory
Type
3: Theory of mind
Type
4: Self-awareness
Artificial
Intelligence has applications in various fields. These fields can be military,
law, video games, government, finance, automotive, audit, art, etc. AI in
education can automate grading, giving educators more time. It can assess students
and adapt to their needs, helping them work at their own pace. AI tutors can
provide additional support to students, ensuring they stay on track. And it
could change where and how students learn.
The
AI Club welcomes it's students to the brand-new world of Artificial
Intelligence. The club will serve as a place of community for discussing,
learning about, and working on topics related to machine learning and
artificial intelligence.
To
sum it up, Artificial Intelligence looks all set to be the future of the World.
Experts believe AI would certainly become a part and parcel of human life soon.
AI would completely change the way we view our World. With Artificial
Intelligence, the future seems intriguing and exciting.
I must say this with certainty that myself and
the fellow students of the department are greatly blessed and thankful for the
opportunity to be a part and also to work in a club that has the potential to
be the future of human kind.
SCIENCE AND ECO CLUB
The
second club was Science and Eco club.
Ms.
S. P. Keerthana , Secretary gave insights on the Science and Eco club through
illustrations and a brief speech with special mention to the staffs in charge of
the club, Mrs. R.Vaijayanti, Assistant Professor, Mrs.A.
Suryalatha, Assistant Professor and Mrs.B.
Santhamani, Assistant Professor.
SCIENCE CLUB
The process of establishment of Science Clubs in India started before
Independence during the 1930's under the influence of Swadeshi movement. The
initiators of that Club were some scientists and engineers. Its president was
Rabindranath Dey who was by profession the PwD secretary of the Calcutta
Corporation then.
The main aim of Science club is to
make people scientific in their attitude to life through various activities
such as model-making, sky-watching, science exhibition, science quiz,
discussions and so on. And also to expose the so called supernatural events
through scientific clarification there by ensuring the spread of scientific
temper.
As science generates solutions for
everyday life and helps us to answer the great mysteries of the Universe
thereby serving as a channel of knowledge. Thus students in science club will
learn about all scope of science right from medicine, physics, chemistry,
botany to the environment. They tend to develop interest in scientific hobbies
because here they learn by doing it in our science club.
ECO
CLUB
Under the scheme, National Green Corps (NGC) 'Eco Club' programme was initiated in 2001-2002. A nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change by the Government of India. The objective of this club is to impart knowledge to students through hands-on experience, about their immediate environment, interactions within it and the problems therein.
The programme aims to inculcate proper attitude towards environment and development.
Thus this Science and Eco Club is a right amalgamation of 2
distinct clubs which joins hands together to combat major environmental issues
addressed like global warming, ozone depletion, water scarcity, plastic
pollution, etc…starting from the scratch level by creating awareness amongst
people about it.
I
end by stating this,
When
we honor the earth,
We
honor ourselves and we are ready to start with really small steps to get our
mission done.
SPECIAL EDUCATION CLUB
The next club was Special Education club with Vasandhara as its secretary.
She
promoted her club's importance through chart works and delivered a brief speech
with special mention to the staff incharges of the club Dr.V. Mrunalini, Mrs. Revathy , Mrs.
K Kalaivani and Mrs. Lavanya.
Special education is the
branch of education for individuals who are different from normal human beings.
It is specially designed for students who are disabled, gifted child or with
special learning needs.
Special education, also
called special needs education, the education of children who differ socially,
mentally, or physically from the average to such an extent that they require
modifications of usual school practices.
Special educator plays a
major role in special education.
Special educator means a
person trained in communication with children with disabilities in a way that
addresses the child's individual abilities and needs, which include challenges
with learning and communication, emotional and behavioral issues, physical
disabilities, and developmental issues.
Special education is the
process of making educational provision to meet special needs of children,
which cannot be satisfied by the present arrangements available in ordinary schools.
We live in a world full of diversities. Every form of living and non-living being is quite unique and different from each other. At times we lack words to appreciate the unimaginable creativity of God when we find that no single creation of His is an exact replica of the other. As a result, a child comes to this earth with its own unique abilities and capacities of body and mind. Some are fortunate enough to have extraordinary abilities or capacities, while others are averages or even suffer from so many deficits and deficiencies since from the birth. This gap between the abilities and capacities of the children related to their learning, adjustment and development found at the time of their birth, may further be widened by the nature of the environmental differences encountered by them in their nourishment and education. It results in labeling them as exceptionally superior or inferior, capable or incapable in one or the other aspects of their personality development.
LITERARY CLUB
The fourth club was Literary club with Ms. Jane as its secretary.
She provides information on the literary club and illustrated it through charts. She gave special mention to the staffs in charge of the club , Dr.N.Vasuki, Professor, Mrs.K.Deepa, Assistant Professor and Mrs.T.Premalatha, Assistant Professor.
The
programme was indeed a fruitful one that was to be marked in the diary of
Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for women.
It is my immense pleasure to
introduce to you, our club; The Literary club. The literary club, where we know
how to enjoy life, and not just know everything about it,
As Joseph Heller said -
"He knew everything about literature, except how to enjoy it."
A literary club is a place
where students can meet, come together to share their insights on politics,
life, college issues, etc. We are like a family here, sharing frustrations,
trials and happy moments.
To tell you briefly about the
need of this club; literary clubs are important tools to enhance
the creativity of the students. And though we are all getting ready to become
future teachers, when it comes to creativity and skills, age is just a number.
This literary club is Important to practice to wrap
one's mind around real and complex ideas, those of a fundamental consequence
for oneself and for culture.
This club will provide you
the opportunity to help your imagination run wild. It will let the stream of
ideas flow with no restrictions.
Most importantly, this club
makes learning English FUN! Through many creative activities that either
require individual attention or group efforts, these will help you develop
communication skills, forces you to actually read books, improve writing skills,
speaking skills and so on.
Literary club is a club that
recognizes each individual's uniqueness. It can, on a broad perspective, help
students to socialize better, provide you with different perspectives and views
and teaches you to appreciate literature and the art of reading books.
This club will help you to explore the highest and
lowest places in human society and human spirit, where you will hope to find
not absolute truth but the truth of the tale, the truth of imagination of the
heart.
This club encourages
creativity, and freedom might just be the basic right...!
Our motive is to help our
fellow friends to develop their literary skills, instill confidence in them to
speak well, through activities that can stimulate or create a spark of
uniqueness. Well, ofcourse, it all comes with a pinch of awkwardness, weirdness
and madness too!
At last, I wild like to end
my speech with a quote by Samuel Lover ;
"When ince the itch of
literature comes over a man, nothing can cure it but the scratching of a pen.
But if you have not a pen, i suppose you must scratch any way you can."
I take no sin in this
presumption; that there are many budding writers here too! So, I would like to
encourage you all to join with us and scratch our pens I to some golden
awesomeness!
