REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2018-19

Social services and social work have important role in helping the people to improve the quality of life by creating awareness and sustain the community by creating employment opportunities on their own effort. Engaging in community service provides students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service or volunteerism enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.

Learning is an automatic process but possessing and acquiring skill is a learnt process. Skill is the upgraded version where we have to apply the knowledge in a correct way. As future teachers, they are supposed to imbibe various skills of teaching and improve our communication with the public .As a part of our department, our institute offers  CSS- Community and Social Service Programs for the enhancement of social and service  skills. As teams and as individuals  took part in many programs, which was for the benefit of both the students and the community. Through these programs, we have improved skills in all the aspects to shine bright.

To full fill the goal of CSS, the Department of Education selected 4 villages from Periyanaikenpalayam block iePannimadai, Thaliyur, Madathur andRamanathapuram and they were grouped under the supervision of staffs.

Zero Corruption and Awareness on International Disabled Day

         

                   On 04.01.2018, Observed Zero corruption awareness at Government Middle School, Thippanur the students were formed human chain like ZERO CORRUPTION and taken pledge against corruption. Also, in the same day created awareness on International Disabled day students of special education demonstrated the various devices used by the visually challenged and hearing challenged and given a talk on International Disabled Day.

Celebration of 150thMahathma Gandhi Jayanthi

Organized Competition in relation to Celebration of 15th Gandhi Jayanthi and On behalf of CSS, students conducted rally on Swachh Bharath in Pannimadai Village and Ramanathapuram Village. They visited the following Schools and created awareness about Swachh Bharath and taught the life history of Mahathma Gandhi and students sang “RagupathiRagava Raja Ram” which is the favorite song of MahathmaGandhi and made children  to enlighten the glory of the freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi on his birthday at

Also various competitions have been conducted in the above mentioned schools on the theme “Mahathma Gandhi’s Principles” and prizes have been given.

Campus cleaning ...

Clean campus promotes hygiene and also reduces the spread of sickness. Maintaining a clean college environment set a good example to students to encourage them to potentially make a bigger effort to maintain their environment which is also done by faculty helpers. On promoting Swatch Bharath Abhiyan, we student clean the campus for a day including sweeping and mopping all hard surface flooring, vacuuming floors and carpets in administrative, classroom, dormitory buildings, cleaning the walls, windows and other surfaces of rooms and buildings throughout “school of Education” in our campus. We also clean our garden which is at the centre of our block, were blossoms flourish our daily events. By thanking them, we clean our campus to give rise to a good character by keeping body, mind and soul clean and peaceful.

·        As a part of CSS activity, we collect sapling from home, nursery and planted various kinds of saplings, blossom plants and even medicinal plants to keep our campus Go Green

Demonstration on Nutritious Foods on 04.01.2019

In relation to The Prime Minister's Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition or POSHAN Abhiyaan or National Nutrition Mission, is Government of India's flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.To create awareness among children about the importance of Nutritious food the studentsdemonstrated how to makeKulanthiAmuthu, Bread Sandwich, Fresh Juice and sprouts.

And the students were organized Rally in the streets to create awareness among the public.

 

Donated Teaching Aids and Remedial Teaching to slow learners

On 06.03.2019 distributed all the teaching aids which was prepared by the II B.Ed Students for their Teaching Practice after completion of their commission the teaching aids were given to the CSS adapted schools at Ramanthapuram, Thaliyur, Pannimadi and at Madathur Schools.teaching aids like flash cards, dummy models and working models and donated to the school for children learning to get clear understanding about the concept.

And the slow learners were given remedial teaching in the subjects English and Maths.
